Bingen Cortazar was born in Bilbao (Spain) in 1988. He received his B.S. in Telecommunications Engineering in 2011 from the Basque Country University (UPV). He was graduated first of his class after presenting his research project of a system which generated, verified and acquired ECG signals. After graduation, he collaborated for two years in Airbus Defence and Space as a Product Assurance and Quality Engineer in ESA active antenna projects. In 2012, he was awarded with La Caixa fellowship in order to pursue graduate studies in the US. In 2013, he joined the M.S. program in Electrical Engineering Department at UCLA. Guided by Prof. Dr. Aydogan Ozcan, he collaborates in the Ozcan ́s Biophotonics Lab as a member of its computational group ever since, where his research is mostly related to telemedicine and image processing projects.
