Rüştü Umut Tok received his B.Sc. degree in Physics from Işık University, Turkey. He got his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Istanbul Technical University. In his M.Sc. degree he worked on near-infrared spectroscopy. He received his Ph.D. from Sabancı University, Mechatronics Engineering. During his Ph.D he studied on broadband plasmonic surfaces and their applications. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at The Ozcan Research Group, UCLA. His research interest includes, plasmonic lab-on-a-chip biosensors and portable optical devices for point of care diagnostics.
