HHMI Project Mentor
Yair Rivenson is a Marie Skolodwska-Curie fellow in the Ozcan research group. His main research interest is in imaging sciences, including computational imaging theory and applications, combining the physical understanding of the system along with proper mathematical modeling and applying recent signal processing methodologies.
Yair Rivenson received his BSc (cum laude), MSc and PhD from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Following that, he joined the group of Prof. Zeev Zalevsky in Bar-Ilan university as a postdoc scholar. Yair Rivenson is the co-author of 45 refereed journal and conference papers (8 of them invited), 2 book chapters and 1 publication in special edition of optics and photonics news 2012 annual review.
Dr. Rivenson has won several prestigious awards, including the ERC Marie Skolodwska-Curie Global Fellowship, 5 Ben-Gurion inter-University awards, 3 Israeli national awards and 1 best conference paper. During his PhD period, Dr. Rivenson was the establisher and first president of the OSA (Optical Society of America) Ben-Gurion University student chapter. He also imitated an outreach activity during which he visited over 30 middle and high schools performing interactive optics experiments and pay the students attention to the great influence of optics and photonics on their everyday life, where the goal was to inspire the students to pursue scientific career.
